A note from PNNC President…

With all this beautiful weather, I’ve been working in the yard watching my dogs play and trying to figure out a way to convince them that the blueberry bushes really should stay in the ground.  Having recently added a new Newf (Ali) to the family, I find myself watching her and wondering what activities she is going to enjoy (besides digging up plants), how she learns, and what types of things will motivate her best.

Summer is an exciting time of year.   There are so many things we can do with our dogs and so many fun ways to do them!  It makes me wonder what all of you are going to do with your dogs this summer?

PNNC just wrapped up a successful Spring Draft Test, which means water season is just around the corner!  The Working Dog Committee has been hard at work, putting together some really wonderful Intro To Water Work sessions, and group water training will begin soon.  Our Water Test is scheduled for September, and we hope to see many of you there whether it be testing, volunteering, or watching these amazing Newfoundlands and their people work!  We always have a great test with so many wonderful people and dogs.  It’s definitely a time many of us look forward to each year.

No matter what you do this summer, stay safe, enjoy your dogs, take as many moments as you can to just be with them.  They’ll love you for it!  They really do have so much to teach us about living in the moment.  I look forward to seeing you all out and about at future PNNC events.

Be sure to look at our website/Facebook page for event dates/information.   Have a great Summer!

Sincerely,
Amy Canzano
